This is a weird surprise, Microsoft has announced it will be joining the Linux Foundation as a Platinum Partner. IT giant Microsoft has never been a fan of the Linux Foundation, but according to the organisation’s executive director, that’s all changed since Satya Nadella became Microsoft’s boss. To become a Platinum Partner, Microsoft must stump up $500,000, but in return, it gains a place on the Foundation’s board. Former Microsoft CEO might have labeled Linux ‘a cancer’ 15 years ago, but things couldn’t be any different this week. We still wonder how things will go in Munich summer 2017
