As 3D printing goes mainstream and 3D printer price tags continue to drop, there are more 3D printing business opportunities than ever before. If you’ve ever wanted to make money off your 3D printer or just want to have some fun, AmigaOS is no longer excluded in this new emerging market! Programmer Enrique Perez just ported Skeinforge to AmigaOS 4.1, Skeinforge is a tool chain composed of Python scripts that converts your 3D model into G-Code instructions for RepRap. RepRap takes the form of a free desktop 3D printer capable of printing plastic objects. Since many parts of RepRap are made from plastic and RepRap prints those parts, RepRap self-replicates by making a kit of itself, a kit that anyone can assemble given time and materials. For Skeinforge working properly on AmigaOS4.1 you need the latest Amiga port of Python 2.5.5. You can also use Blender to import STL files.
