AROS Broadway is based on AROS, the AROS project started in 1995, and has over the years become an almost  complete implementation of AmigaOS and is a free and open source. Broadway is a distribution of AROS started late 2009 by Pascal Papara. The goal has been to provide a simple and complete introduction to what AROS has to offer. On top of that, commercial software like a media center, a cloud storage service and an appstore was added in later versions. There are many AROS flavored distros available such as AspireOS and ICAROS. The AROS project can best be compared with a sort of Linux strategy. You download the latest edition of AROS Broadway and run a live session before installing the operating system.
