There is a substantial demand for an optimized AmigaOS 4.1 release for the upcoming Vampire V4 based on the Cyclone V FPGA . Unofficially and based on rumors the Apollo team have sold about 4000 Vampire units since it’s initial release. However, Hyperion Entertainment CVBA have been very quiet when it comes to Vampire accelerators and it’s next generation Amiga operating system. The Vampire V4 is probably going to sell very well and the upcoming standalone boards could push sales to new records. The Vampire V4 is now in production and will probably be released by the end of the year, A-EON Technology’s upcoming AmigaOne A1222 will be released in the same period. An optimized release of AmigaOS 4.1  for Vampire V4 accelerators will probably never happen because of conflicting business interest, A-EON Technology is shareholder in Hyperion Entertainment CVBA. None the less A-EON technology is known for supporting classic Amiga, such as the release of the Prisma soundcard for classic Commodore Amiga computers. Would you be interested in using AmigaOS 4.1 or MorphOS on Vampire V4 accelerators?
