One of A-EON technology’s beta testers Luigi Burdo has revealed the motherboard of the upcoming AmigaOne X5000/40 with a Quad Core PowerPC CPU. The AmigaOne X5000/20 was released in October 2016 featuring a PowerPC-based dual-core CPU with a frequency of up to 2.5GHz. The AmigaOne computers come with SATA, USB, Ethernet, and PCI/PCIe slots, and can run Amiga OS 4.1, several Linux PowerPC distro and will be able to run the upcoming MorphOS 3.10. The release date and pricing for the AmigaOne X5000/40 is TBA. The tech company is mainly focusing on it’s upcoming AmigaOne A1222, a new low cost(€400-€500), entry level PowerPC motherboard to be released end 2017 or early 2018.
