Chasm developer’s next game will be Wolfhound

Wolfhound is a promising upcoming 2D Metroidvania style game developed by Bit Kid, the studio behind Chasm. Set in a unique World War II backdrop mixed with sci-fi and horror elements, the game puts players in the shoes of Capt. Chuck “Wolfhound” Rossetti. His mission: infiltrate a secret Nazi base hidden in the Bermuda Triangle where grotesque experiments are underway, conducted by the mad scientist Dr. Steiner. The game features a handcrafted island map with interconnected areas to explore. Players will face a variety of terrifying mutated enemies like giant mutant rats, armored bodyguards, and fleshy abominations. To survive, you must scavenge diverse weapons, from flamethrowers to experimental railguns, and gain advanced mobility tools like jetpacks, air-dash boots, and gravity boots that unlock new exploration possibilities. Artistically, Wolfhound aims for authentic 8-bit pixel art resembling classic NES games, with a resolution of 320×180 and an option for CRT visual effects. The soundtrack is composed in Famitracker by RushJet1, known for work on Cave Story+ and Alwa’s Legacy. Gameplay promises challenging boss fights, strategic weapon upgrades, and creative exploration. The game is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Steam/PC, and Steam Deck in 2026, Wolfhound is shaping up to be a must-play for fans of retro Metroidvania based games and WWII-themed games.
