G-WARS delivers neon chaos and twin-stick shooting inspired by Geometry Wars on Xbox to high-end Amiga systems. NovaCoder first announced the project in May 2025 via Indie Retro News, teasing a weekend launch for RTG setups like PiStorm Amigas. The game just reached version 2.9.01 on Aminet, capping a string of updates with “too many changes to list”, so the new update is a big step forward. You command a space ship on a black grid arena, dual-sticking to strafe and blast endless geometric foes spawning in waves. Chain kills to climb multipliers, snatch geoms for score bombs, but one collision ends your run—pure tension where thumb flicks spell survival or doom. Bombs clear screens in desperation, but smart play means dodging greens that split, purples that home, and snakes weaving venom paths. Neon explosions ripple color across the playfield, particles dancing in hypnotic frenzy that masks incoming threats. Hazy menus annoy slightly, but in-game it’s a dazzling light show synced to thumping synth beats and sharp SFX—every pop and whoosh fuels the trance. Runs feel alive, begging replays for that perfect big-pointer.
