Trojan is a side-scrolling action game released by Capcom in 1986. Originally developed for arcades, the game was later released on several home systems and is now being recreated for classic Commodore Amiga computers. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world following a nuclear war. In this setting, the remaining regions are controlled by powerful and corrupt rulers who serve a central villain named Achilles. The player takes on the role of a warrior known as Trojan, whose goal is to defeat these rulers and restore order. Gameplay takes place in a side-scrolling format where the player moves through several stages while fighting enemies and bosses. The combat system focuses on both offense and defense. Trojan uses a sword for close combat and carries a shield that can block incoming attacks such as knives and arrows. Timing plays an important role, as players must attack enemies while also defending against their attacks.

Each stage contains regular enemies, a mid-level opponent, and a boss at the end of the level. During combat, the player can lose the sword and shield if hit in certain ways. When this happens, the character must temporarily fight without weapons until they are recovered. Following the arcade release, Trojan was adapted for home systems including the Nintendo Entertainment System and MS-DOS computers. The NES version introduced several additional elements such as hidden rooms, collectible items, and a two-player mode where one player controls the hero and the other controls an enemy fighter. The game was directed by Takashi Nishiyama, who later directed Street Fighter, one of the early and influential fighting games.

The development of Trojan for AGA-based Amiga systems by Retro Passion started in 2022, and an early preview footage appeared in 2024 showing the game running on Amiga hardware. After a period without updates, a new preview video released in March 2026 showed one of the enemies from the second level of the Amiga version. The port is still under development, and no release date has been announced. Although Trojan is not one of Capcom’s most widely known titles, it remains part of the company’s early arcade history.
