Zed is a 1996 real-time strategy computer game by The Bitmap Brothers. It is about two armies of robots (red and blue) battling to conquer different planets. The objective of the game is to eliminate the opponent by taking out their command Fort: either by sending a unit to enter it, or by destroying it directly. Alternatively, destroying all of the opponent’s units immediately wins the game. At the start of every mission, each side is given control of their Fort and a small group of units. A host of unmanned turrets and vehicles are usually scattered about the map and sending a robot to these will allow the player to add them to their army.

The first mission is similar to the serie, then it forks and offers some refreshing gameplay (find the submarine in mission two if you can!). But first mission alone will not be easy to complete !

Freespace: The Great War. The setting of this game takes place in the 24th century when humanity has discovered interstellar travel through the use of interstellar subspace jump nodes that function in the same manner as wormholes, allowing it to spread out across the stars and colonise new worlds. Prior to the game beginning, humanity formed the Galactic Terran Alliance as the central power of all of their systems’ governments and military, and became engaged in a war over systems and resources against the Vasudans of the Parliamentary Vasudan Empire.
