With two new AmigaONE systems you could be looking for some good AmigaONE games. Many games have been released or ported to AmigaOS4, here you have just a few of them to get started! We keep you posted of more good AmigaOS4+ games or future Amiga game projects…
MACE is a classic space shoot ’em up, inspired by the legendary Amiga games of this genre. Handdrawn 2D graphics in HD resolutions, parallax scrolling and optimized games mechanics, combined with the proven gameplay are transporting the “Spirit of Amiga” in today’s Age.
Swamp Defense 2 Fight countless enemies with a huge selection of gun turrets (in the form of comic heroes) and additional helpers (mines, air support, block wall) on more than 60 maps. Earn coins to obtain improvements in the integrated shop system and to buy new towers.
Battle Squadron was originally developed by Cope-Com for the Commodore Amiga Home Computer in 1989 and received numerous awards making it an instant Amiga Classic. Battle Squadron is available through both digital download and a pre-order special collectors edition with the signature with the original developers and the coder making it possible to return to AmigaOS 4.X.
Frogatto & Friends is an old-school 2D platformer game, starring a certain quixotic frog. It’s a big adventure with all the classic fun – you fight monsters, collect coins, talk to people, and buy new stuff. Also, Frogatto has a very flexible game engine you can use to make your own creations.
Wings Battlefield The ultimate head-to-head 3D air combat game for your next-gen Amigas! Fly through the canyons and hills and take out your opponents before being taken out by them.
Zed is a 1996 real-time strategy computer game by The Bitmap Brothers. It is about two armies of robots (red and blue) battling to conquer different planets. The objective of the game is to eliminate the opponent by taking out their command Fort: either by sending a unit to enter it, or by destroying it directly. Alternatively, destroying all of the opponent’s units immediately wins the game. At the start of every mission, each side is given control of their Fort and a small group of units. A host of unmanned turrets and vehicles are usually scattered about the map and sending a robot to these will allow the player to add them to their army.
The Mini Slug Project. It’s a tribute to the Metal Slug Serie from Clément CORDE. It is a game composed of 3 Missions (each mission divided into a number of levels). The first mission is similar to the serie, then it forks and offers some refreshing gameplay (find the submarine in mission two if you can!). But first mission alone will not be easy to complete !
Freespace: The Great War. The setting of this game takes place in the 24th century when humanity has discovered interstellar travel through the use of interstellar subspace jump nodes that function in the same manner as wormholes, allowing it to spread out across the stars and colonise new worlds. Prior to the game beginning, humanity formed the Galactic Terran Alliance as the central power of all of their systems’ governments and military, and became engaged in a war over systems and resources against the Vasudans of the Parliamentary Vasudan Empire.
Quake 3 Unlike its predecessors, does not have a plot-based single-player campaign. Instead, it simulates the multiplayer experience with computer-controlled players known as bots. The game’s story is brief – ‘the greatest warriors of all time fight for the amusement of a race called the Vadrigar in the Arena Eternal.’
Gorky 17 is a horror conspiracy game mixing elements of strategy and RPG gameplay. You, the player, command a small group of NATO soldiers who must reveal the mystery behind the sudden appearance of hybrid creatures in a small Polish city named Lubin.
Have fun! See you in Part 2 for more AmigaONE/OS4+ games…
