Belgian based company Hyperion Entertainment CVBA had some bad news from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). All registrations have been refused for the BoingBall logo, AmigaOS and AmigaOne. The US Patent and Trademark Office deems them too close to Cloanto’s Amiga mark and Hyperion has six months to react to the refusal. Cloanto’s Amiga mark was published in the US Patent and Trademark Office’s “Trademark Official Gazette”. If no other party files an opposition or extension request within the next thirty days, the Amiga trademark will be assigned to Italian based company Cloanto for good. Cloanto has not made any statements about what it want to do with the Amiga legacy.
