A new improved version of Frogatto & Friends (1.3.1) has been released for MorphOS PowerPC, the new release offers several bugfixes and improvements. Frogatto & Friends is a great old-school 2D platformer game, starring a certain quixotic frog. It’s a big adventure with all the classic fun – you fight monsters, collect coins, talk to people, and buy new stuff. Also, Frogatto has a very flexible game engine you can use to make your own creations. Both the source code and the game have been publicly available since r125 of their source repository, but they did not attempt to build a community around the game until after reaching 1.0. It is intended by the developers that the source code of the game be used to help make other open-source games. The engine is also multiplatform and runs on most systems where the game runs. This helps developers of smaller platforms by giving them technologies to create high quality, open-source, new modern games on their system.
