Star Fox 64 Blasts onto the Dreamcast: ported in just two days

The SEGA Dreamcast homebrew scene is on fire right now. Every week, it seems a new Nintendo 64 classic makes its way onto SEGA’s beloved final console. While some were hoping for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, developer Jnmartin84 had other plans. In an incredible display of skill, he’s managed to get Star Fox 64 up and running on the Dreamcast in just two days. This isn’t Jnmartin84’s first breakthrough. He’s previously delivered Doom 64 to the Dreamcast, brought Nintendo’s kart racer to life on the platform, and even injected a bit of crossover chaos by adding Sonic the Hedgehog into Mario Kart 64. But this latest achievement might just be his most impressive yet. Right now, Star Fox 64 on Dreamcast is already looking superb. The iconic barrel rolls, laser blasts, and frantic space dogfights are all there. While a few elements — such as character voice lines and certain sound effects — still need refinement, the core gameplay is smooth and fully functional. Keep your radar locked — this is one homebrew mission that’s only going to get better.
