Forever Entertainment has revealed that the acclaimed tactical RPG Front Mission 3: Remake will launch on January 30, 2026, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, as well as PC via Steam and GOG. A free demo went live on December 24, 2025, across all these platforms, allowing players to dive into the revamped gameplay right away. Set in a near-future world dominated by corporate giants and geopolitical strife, the story centers on young pilot Kazuki Takemura and his friend Ryogo Takemura. What starts as a simple delivery to a military base spirals into a web of international intrigue involving the mysterious M.I.D.A.S. weapon project. Players face a crucial early choice that branches the narrative into two distinct paths: one aligning Kazuki with his sister Alisa and her resistance group, the other partnering with enigmatic operative Emma Klamsky on a covert mission. Each route delivers unique missions, allies, and viewpoints, exploring heavy themes like loyalty, family bonds, transhumanism, and the perils of unchecked military tech. The paths eventually converge, rewarding replays with deeper conspiracy revelations. Core to the experience is commanding Wanzers—massive, customizable humanoid mechs—in grid-based, turn-based tactical battles. Players position units strategically, manage weapons, armor, and skills, and exploit terrain for victory. The remake preserves this depth while introducing modern polish: upgraded visuals with detailed models and fluid animations, a reorchestrated soundtrack blending nostalgia with fresh orchestration, and new features like Quick Combat Mode for accelerated fights and extensive camouflage customization for personalizing mechs. This release modernizes a 1999 PlayStation gem without diluting its strategic soul, appealing to tactics fans and series veterans alike. With the demo available now, anticipation builds for what promises to be a definitive return of Front Mission’s intricate storytelling and punishing combat.
