MicroProse has officially teamed up with legendary developer Geoff Crammond to bring back his classic Formula One Grand Prix series. The games, launching on Steam in 2026, will arrive under the new title Geoff Crammond Racing (GCR), as Codemasters and EA currently own the official F1 license. This revival reintroduces four seminal racing simulations—originally known for their physics, realism, and depth—under a unified brand that celebrates both Crammond’s programming mastery and MicroProse’s historical connection to the series. Each game has been carefully adapted to modern PCs, featuring quality-of-life improvements, updated visuals, and Steam Workshop support for community-driven customization. The Geoff Crammond Racing series helped define the modern racing simulation genre, focusing on authentic handling and strategic driving rather than arcade-style thrills. From its early versions to the powerful engine seen in Grand Prix 4, the series has consistently emphasized technical mastery—realistic tire models, track physics, and detailed telemetry that challenged players to drive like professionals. Over time, Crammond refined his approach to ensure every car, every turn, and every weather condition behaved as close to reality as possible. This commitment to depth and authenticity earned the series a reputation among sim racing enthusiasts as one of the most accurate virtual racing experiences ever created. For players frustrated with the increasingly arcade-like tone of many modern racing titles, this revival marks a return to purity. Geoff Crammond Racing delivers the same technical focus and unforgiving realism that made the originals cult favorites—now accessible on current systems and ready for a new generation of sim racers. With MicroProse once again publishing and Crammond back in the driver’s seat, the upcoming Steam launch promises to reintroduce the essence of precision racing to fans worldwide.
