Developer Mixel from MixelsLab has dropped a substantial update for Wizonk: Magic Arena, a frenetic 2-4 player deathmatch wizard platformer built on Earok’s Scorpion Engine. The release packs in enemies, expanded maps, music, guest characters, tournaments, and special weapons, enhancing its mash-up vibe of Fuzzball and Smash Bros.. Meanwhile, Mixel continues working on his ambitious companion project, Creeping Me Out: Hex Night. Players duel in static-screen arenas using parallel port joystick adapters, with free “pay what you feel” access now live on itch.io. New mechanics shine through dash sliding (forward only), rebounding projectiles, end-game boosts, and instant-death critters when time expires. Advanced controls include chargeable attacks—like a homing ghost projectile or frog curse that turns foes into jumpy amphibians—plus character-specific specials such as the Witch’s broom flight or Cleric’s holy smite. Wizonk should run on all Amigas with 1MB Chip RAM.
