A known Call of Duty dataminer, going by the handle @realityuk, has reportedly uncovered explicit references to Nintendo platforms inside Call of Duty’s codebase. These Nintendo entries are listed alongside existing platform families like Xbox and PlayStation, strongly implying that a native Nintendo version is being actively prepared. According to the leaker, the presence of these Nintendo hooks in the code points to an announcement that is “imminent” and likely tied to the next round of official Nintendo reveals. Ubisoft Connect is also referenced in the same configuration list, reflecting the recent push to offer titles like Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 through Ubisoft+ Premium streaming. The leak does not spell out which specific Call of Duty entries will be headed to Switch 2. However, given Activision’s current lineup, the most obvious candidates are Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and the free-to-play Warzone battle royale, which would both give Nintendo’s audience a modern, ongoing live-service foothold in the series. From a business perspective, a Switch 2 Call of Duty port feels less like a surprise and more like a delayed inevitability. Back in 2023, Microsoft and Nintendo signed a binding 10-year agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms, a deal struck in the shadow of regulatory scrutiny over Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
