Destroy All Humans! Series coming to Nintendo Switch 2

The Destroy All Humans! series is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, bringing two remade classics from the PlayStation 2 era to Nintendo’s next-generation console. The games follow Crypto, a sarcastic alien whose mission on Earth is to harvest human DNA and cause chaos using advanced alien technology. With their mix of humor, open-world gameplay, and sci-fi weapons, the games became cult favorites when they originally released and remain well remembered by fans today. The remake of Destroy All Humans! is a modern version of the original 2005 game. Players take control of Cryptosporidium-137, also known as Crypto, an alien from the Furon race who travels to Earth during the 50s. His mission is to collect human DNA in order to save his species while secretly infiltrating human society. The game features several open environments inspired by 50s America, including small towns, farmland, suburbs, and military bases. Players can freely explore these locations while completing missions such as abducting humans, destroying military equipment, and spreading panic among civilians.

You have access to a wide range of alien weapons and abilities, including the Zap-O-Matic, an electric weapon used to shock enemies, the Disintegrator Ray which vaporizes targets, and telekinesis that allows players to lift and throw objects, vehicles, or people. He can also disguise himself as a human using a hologram ability, helping him blend in and move through areas without being detected. Another major part of the gameplay involves Crypto’s flying saucer, which can be used to destroy buildings, abduct humans, and battle the military with powerful weapons such as the death ray and abduction beam. The remake improves the original game with modern graphics, updated controls, and smoother gameplay while keeping the story, missions, and humor that made the original title so memorable. Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed is the remake of the 2006 sequel and expands on many of the ideas introduced in the first game. The story takes place during the 1960s and follows another clone of Crypto after the KGB destroys the Furon mothership. This leads Crypto on a new mission of revenge while continuing to harvest human DNA and spread destruction across the planet. Unlike the first game, which mainly takes place in the United States, the sequel includes larger and more varied locations around the world. Players can explore areas such as London, San Francisco, Tokyo, and the fictional island of Solaris.

Each location features its own missions, characters, and side activities, giving players more opportunities to cause chaos and experiment with Crypto’s powers. The sequel also introduces several new abilities and weapons. These include Meteor Strike, which allows players to call down asteroids from space to destroy enemies, and the Free Love ability that causes humans to start dancing uncontrollably. Combat and telekinesis abilities are also expanded, making battles more dynamic and allowing players to interact with the environment in more creative ways. One of the biggest additions in Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed is co-op multiplayer, which allows two players to complete missions and explore the world together, something that was not present in the first game. Like the first remake, the sequel features improved graphics, updated physics, and modern gameplay enhancements while still keeping the humor and over-the-top destruction that defined the original game. With both games arriving on Nintendo Switch 2, players will be able to experience the full remade Destroy All Humans! series on Nintendo hardware. The first remake releases on June 23, 2026, followed by Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed on September 15, 2026.
