That is a much harder business than building a beloved player. The creator-tools market is crowded. Artists already have many services competing for attention. The Winamp name helps open the door, but the tools have to prove themselves.

Financially, the company remains small compared with major streaming platforms. Recent reported revenue sits in the low millions of euros, and the group has been building its artist-facing platform while maintaining the player brand. It has also reported tens of thousands of registered artists across its ecosystem, with a smaller number using its creator-focused tools. So the modern Winamp is a hybrid. Part legacy player. Part brand revival. Part creator-services bet.

That mix may feel strange to anyone who remembers the tiny player window from the Windows 98 era, but it makes business sense. A classic desktop player alone won’t create a major growth company in 2026. Services might.
