ApolloOS Alpha released: Open source AmigaOS for Vampire series

The first ApolloOS (RC1) has been released. ApolloOS is an initiative by the Apollo Team to bring AROS into main stream M68k use, while enabling Vampire users to take full advantage of the extended hardware that powers their Amiga. The aim of ApolloOS to provide a best-in-class AROS experience on the M68k Amiga’s, with a focus on the Vampire accelerator boards and Computers. ApolloOS is the tireless work of Pedro Cotter, Michael Schulz, Wawatok, Kalamatee and many others. The new AmigaOS compatible Operating system will offer exceptional Amiga experience on Vampire based Amigas. The AROS Research Operating System project started in 1995 and is a lightweight, efficient, and flexible desktop operating system, designed to help you make the most of your computer. It’s an independent, portable and free project, aiming at being compatible with AmigaOS at the API level, while improving on it in many areas.
